On Sunday, January 8, 2023, Rev. Chris Moore, Lead Pastor at Fellowship UCC in Tulsa, received the Secretary of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award for the extraordinary support he provides his employee Rev. J. D. Morrison, a Chaplain and Captain in the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

The Network of Wider Church Youth Ministers (NOWCYM) met in Atlanta following AM21. The role of NOWCYM is to coordinate with the Faith Info Team in the national office and also collaborate across conferences for youth ministry programs and resources.

Registration for the United Church of Christ’s 34th Synod will open online Monday, Jan. 23, for all delegates and visitors. The biennial gathering is taking place June 30-July 4 at the Indiana Convention Center.

Friends, I pray you and your loved ones experienced a peace filled Christmas and a happy beginning of the New Year. I’ll share with you some of the things conference leaders and I have been working on.

Grants and scholarships are available for authorized ministers and members in discernment (MIDs).

Congregations are encouraged to register for Saturday Feb 11 from 3:00 to 6:00pm. When they choose "Congregation" on the registration form there will be no charge. 

KIFA has  "advocacy day" once a year where people of faith gather at the statehouse in Topeka to meet with legislators and express our concerns.

The Kansas Oklahoma Conference, the Central Pacific Conference, and the Pacific Northwest Conference have been invited by the Southern New England Conference to join in a weekly prayer circle for the month of January.

Where did the year go? I imagine this is a familiar question many of us ponder as we near the final week of Advent, moving from darkness toward the light that is the birth of Jesus with the holiday season of Christmas and New Year’s just around the corner.

In addition to fostering love for others, we must work towards disrupting the hate that takes away our LGBTQ+ siblings’ ability to have life and life abundantly.
