The last week of October, Lorraine be joining with Conference Ministers from across the UCC for a time of shared advocacy, witness, and truth-telling in Washington DC.

THANK YOU to each of the 56 members of the KO Conference who gave their time and effort to help ensure that General Synod attendees received a UCC extravagant welcome.

Thank you for the honor of serving among you, and for the compassion and support you have shown during this season. Most of all, thank you for your friendship. 

As the days shorten and the air cools, we are reminded that all of creation moves through seasons. The turning of leaves into brilliant shades of red and gold is not only beautiful, it is also a sign of transition. The trees let go of what has given them life, and here in the middle of the country the grass dies away, trusting that in time, new growth will come.

This is what it looks like when justice gives way to cruelty, and when the cost of freedom is extracted from those who can least afford it. Let us hold this truth together as we discern what faithful leadership requires of us now.

Holy Conversations are intimate gatherings among trusted friends, designed to foster connection, renewal, and purpose within the K-O Conference. These conversations began three years ago when the conference bylaws clarified that the wider K-O community should guide the board's focus each year.

On June 6–7, nine clergy from across the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference gathered in Tulsa, OK, for a powerful two-day Anti-Racism Training. This transformative experience, led by Pastor Julia Gaughan, deepened our understanding of systemic racism and helped us explore our individual and collective roles in dismantling it.
