The Committee on Ministry - Discernment (COM D) officially invites the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference to the Ecclesiastical Council of Julia Gaughan Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 4pm.  

We are thrilled to announce that we have selected Julia Gaughan to be the Bridge Conference Minister for our conference.  This decision was facilitated by the hard work of the Interim Search Committee composed of chair Gage Church and members Bobbie Henderson, Janet George, Sheridan Irick, and Tracy Scott. 

The Rev. Aaron Roberts, who served as senior minister for 14 years at the Colonial Church in Prairie Village, Kansas will join the new destroyer’s crew based out of Naval Station Rota in Spain.

Voting is a sacred duty, and we know that our values are on the line. Kansans of Faith must vote for our values in the upcoming primary election, so we're encouraging all of our partners and supporters to focus a portion of their worship services on August 1 & 2 on the importance of voting. 

Bethany United Church of Christ in Hiawatha, Kansas, is celebrating 150 years of ministry and service. A special worship service will be held on August 2, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to commemorate this milestone in the life of the congregation. At 5:00 everyone is invited to enjoy an ice cream social and a time of fellowship and music.

We invite all of our local churches to share a picture or two from their Pride events along with a sentence proclaiming what Pride meant to them: as people of faith, living in 2026, however you’d like to respond!

A number of people and groups have been putting together resources in anticipation of this year's Fourth of July.

In July, EKiBa (Evangelische Landeskirche in Baden) will welcome five pastors from the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC) — our long-standing partner church. We have been engaged in close cooperation for over 20 years.

Pride is imago dei to me because I know what it is to not live into the imago dei that God imagined for me the full embodiment of who God created me to be.

There will be a special service at Zion UCC in Junction City on May 31 beginning at 10:30 a.m. that will include a blessing and parting liturgy honoring Lorraine and her work with KO.  All are welcome to attend or send a message to be read during the service or shared privately with Lorraine afterward.  

You are invited to join an 4-week Zoom Book Study led by Rev. Kayla Bonewell (Cathedral of Hope UCC & Church of the Open Arms UCC) on Wednesdays from 1-2 pm as we study Mary Magdalene Revealed: The First Apostle, Her Feminist Gospel & the Christianity We Haven't Tried Yet by Meggan Watterson.

There are seasons when church life can feel heavy. Questions linger. Change comes. The future can feel uncertain. In times like these, it is easy to think the life of the church depends mostly on plans, budgets, committees, and decisions still waiting to be made.

On Saturday, April 25, Evangelische Landeskirche in Baden named the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference as a beneficiary of their end-of-Spring Synod worship, honoring both our partnership and the hospitality shared by K-O.

March 2-6 was Severe Weather Preparedness week.  Like most of you—that week came and went without much attention on my end—my workplace sent updates and I read them with interest, as a Conference Disaster Response Coordinator.
