Clergy, Coffee, Conversation

It’s the three C’s - clergy, coffee, and conversation.

With the continuing challenge of meeting in-person and with our clergy spread out across wide distances in Kansas and Oklahoma, we’re grateful for Zoom. Not everyone likes Zoom these days - yes, there’s such a thing as Zoom fatigue - but it’s still one of the best ways to connect with people while wearing your slippers in the comfort of your own home or office.

Conversation and connection is vital, too. A recent study found that 38% of pastors have considered quitting in the past year. Throughout the pandemic, chaplains and other specialized ministers have reported feeling overwhelmed and many have experienced burnout.

And yet, the ‘business’ of the church remains. Seeking a place where clergy in the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference can share together openly about anything on their hearts or minds, the Rev. Lorraine Ceniceros is hosting monthly conversations for any authorized minister in the Conference.

The Zoom link to join has been sent, and if you have not received it or need it again please contact Rev. Michael Vollbrecht for assistance. The first monthly gathering will be February 24th at 10 am. Mindful that not all ministers can attend at this time, we’ll be talking about availability and may move the event to a different recurring time each month. Stay tuned, and please join if you are able for a time of sharing, reflecting, and relaxing among colleagues and friends.
