Synod 34 Reflections: Steven Christofferson

This was my second Synod as a delegate but the first in person. To say it was a transformational experience doesn’t accurately describe my time in Indianapolis. I was so impressed with the program for the week and the opportunities to learn and grow. I met so many amazing people from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives, and continue to stay connected several weeks later.

There were several issues we voted on, each very important. I served on the committee studying Resolution #6, “Affirming Guns to Gardens and Other Gun Violence Prevention Measures.” After a lot of listening and discussion, the committee recommended passage of the resolution. In the end, the resolution passed with less than 10 “no” votes. It was a great moment for the Church and I am proud to have served on the committee.

I’m so thankful to have represented the KO Conference in Indianapolis and I am excited for the future of the church.
