KO Conference Minister Search "On Hold"

An update from Search Committee Chair, the Rev. Rachael Pryor:

We are on hold…and this is good news! We are moving along in the process of our Conference Minister search, which means that we are officially done receiving profiles, and our listing on the national ministry opportunities website now shows up as "on hold." The Search Committee will meet on April 22nd to begin narrowing down the pool of candidates for consideration. While there is a possibility that the committee could decide to reopen the search in order to receive additional profiles, as long as we follow the schedule as anticipated we expect to be moving forward with initial interviews by the end of the month! We will be sure to confirm this schedule in eNews after our next meeting.

In these months, as we are bound by confidentiality not to report many details, we'd like to offer reflections from each of our Search Committee members about their experience of serving. This month, we hear from Mandy Cook of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville, Kansas. Mandy writes:

“In a world where strong leaders are needed, Conference Minister Edith Guffey will be hard to replace. When I was asked to be a part of the Search Committee, I didn’t say no, because I wanted the K-O Conference to continue to be a part of the upward positive movement in the United Church of Christ. We are charged with a heavy task; we are also blessed with candidates who will be up to the mark. Thank you to the search committee members for the hard and prayerful work they are putting in. I am eager to work with our new leader!”
