Post-Election Message from Lorraine

Dear Beloved Conference Members,

In this post-election season, we hold space together, aware of the varied emotions this moment may bring. As a community, we gather not as supporters of any one perspective, but as a collective of faith, rooted in love, compassion, and our shared commitment to the teachings of Christ.

For some, the election results may feel like a confirmation of their hopes, while for others, they may bring disappointment, concern, and even fear. Yet, amid this diversity, we stand together. Our strength lies in our unity, in our ability to respect and listen to one another, even when we see things differently. This is the essence of being a "purple community"—a space where each person is valued and where dialogue is welcomed.

In the coming days, may we commit ourselves to compassion and understanding, lifting up one another and honoring our call to be peacemakers. Let us remember that God’s presence is with us always, guiding us through all seasons, and may this assurance deepen our connection to one another and to our shared mission of love and service.

In Christ’s peace and with abiding love,
Lorraine
