Join Edith in Continuing to Work for Racial Justice on #Giving Tuesday
I joined my colleagues on this sacred journey and was moved to tears by the unimaginable cruelty endured by thousands because their skin color is the same as mine. I was also reminded and deeply inspired by incredible resiliency, endurance and courage; the absolute refusal to give up. Despite it all we endured. Without a doubt, I am free today because of so many who lived and died fighting for freedom. Today, the legacy of slavery lives on; economic inequities, warehousing of black men in the criminal justice system, schools that are still separate and unequal, unequal access to health care and the list goes on. The journey is different, but the struggle continues and needs us all.
On this Giving Tuesday, I invite you to join me in this continuing fight against white supremacy. Donate today to support the Racial Justice work of the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference that has touched persons in Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida, Minnesota and our partners in Baden Germany. This work primarily focuses on white privilege, which is at the very root of racism and infects every segment of our society and diminishes us all. Your gift today of $100, $50, $25, or $10 will support our conference as we make a difference. Every dollar is a statement that says, “I too am part of this work!” There’s much more to be done, won’t you join me?
Thank you for your generosity and for your courage in the struggle for justice and peace.
